Each of us is gifted with a slice of creativity that comes uniquely to us.

These gifts are ours to steward, so how do we cultivate a rich creative life that bears the fruit of these gifts in season?

How do we, as the unified body of Christ, sharpen and uphold each other’s gifts?

For those who pursue creative work outside the walls of a church building, how do we keep both feet firmly planted within and without? And how can we make art that deeply honours God, though it may not directly bear his name?

This spring, we’re going to explore these questions together by rowing out to Anvil Island to play, pray, and discuss how to walk out our calling as creative disciples of Christ.

Details

COST: $215 per person

This includes boat travel, accommodation and food (and is charged purely to cover these costs). If we have spoken about financial aid, tick the appropriate box below!

DATES: Thursday, March 17 – Saturday, March 19

Meeting at Horseshoe Bay at 6:30pm on March 17, and arriving back around 5pm on March 19.

ACCOMMODATION: Daybreak Point Bible Camp

A cozy lodge on Anvil Island that accommodates up to 18 people in three large bedrooms with bunk beds.

The retreat is open to anyone who considers themselves an artist, creative or maker of any kind.
Though there will be plenty of free time, this collaborative retreat is not primarily a time to create. You will not be asked to produce any work, though of course you are free to.

Notes

All attendees are responsible for reading and agreeing to the Retreat Waiver, available here.
We are happy to welcome guests regardless of Covid-19 vaccination status. In the unlikely event that changes in the public health climate prevent us from including the unvaccinated, anyone affected will receive a full refund.
Payment is refundable up to 2 weeks before the retreat (i.e. by midnight on March 3, 2022). If you need to cancel after that, we will do our best to fill your spot and issue a full refund, however we won’t be able to promise that.
